Hello everyone! Just got back from church on this cold Texas day. I wanted to share something that I heard at a networking lunch last week the speaker runs a diet center. Something’s I didn’t agree with but I thought this was a good way to look at things especially when we think of diets which I know we are on the path of lifestyle of eating and moving. First thing he talked about is all the fad diets like keto, paleo, carnivore etc. yes they may work the first two times you do them and they are working because you are restricting something but they aren’t sustainable longterm and you could be leaving out nutrients your body need down the road.
The other thing I really like was this analogy. If you are going to a birthday dinner and you planned on going go enjoy that meal… but if you walk into the bank and they have doughnuts out don’t go eat one just because they are there you didn’t plan on eating that extra sugar/calories so don’t. Also waiting for the right time to start taking care of your health there will never be the right time. If your always waiting until after the holidays or after your birthday you will never completely commit. Don’t diet!
I know you and Lauren are teaching us in living a healthy lifestyle with getting movement and strength so thank you guys for what you do. There is so much noise out there and always have been on diets and lose as fast as you can to then gain it all back. And living in a world of convenience as a whole we eat more processed food than ever before. If you get back to eating Whole Foods and cooking at home your body knows what to do with it even if you have a little sugar. It is the 89 ingredients and seed oils that we eat in a French fry from a fast food place vs when you make it at home with coconut oil sea salt and potato. Just some thoughts! If I did say anything not on point please feel free Joey to correct or add too.
