Good Morning!
Up early today and after coffee Had a great core and arm workout/stretch for 45 minutes. Going to wait for it to warm up to go for a 3 mile walk. For Breakfast had a 1 egg and cheese omelet and 2 organic chicken sausages and some kimchi. Will have some organic oatmeal and my first half of a scoop of Elixir-Mixer for a snack.
Happy Day to All!!!
Hello everyone! Just got back from church on this cold Texas day. I wanted to share something that I heard at a networking lunch last week the speaker runs a diet center. Something’s I didn’t agree with but I thought this was a good way to look at things especially when we think of diets which I know we are on the path of lifestyle of eating and moving. First thing he talked about is all the fad diets like keto, paleo, carnivore etc. yes they may work the first two times you do them and they are working because you are restricting something but they aren’t sustainable longterm and you could be leaving out nutrients your body need down the road.
The other thing I really like was this analogy. If you are going to a birthday dinner and you planned on going go enjoy that meal… but if you walk into the bank and they have doughnuts out don’t go eat one just because they are there you didn’t plan on eating that extra sugar/calories so don’t. Also waiting for the right time to start taking care of your health there will never be the right time. If your always waiting until after the holidays or after your birthday you will never completely commit. Don’t diet!
I know you and Lauren are teaching us in living a healthy lifestyle with getting movement and strength so thank you guys for what you do. There is so much noise out there and always have been on diets and lose as fast as you can to then gain it all back. And living in a world of convenience as a whole we eat more processed food than ever before. If you get back to eating Whole Foods and cooking at home your body knows what to do with it even if you have a little sugar. It is the 89 ingredients and seed oils that we eat in a French fry from a fast food place vs when you make it at home with coconut oil sea salt and potato. Just some thoughts! If I did say anything not on point please feel free Joey to correct or add too.
As i mentioned on the zoom coaching call - I’ll see if I have the organic dairy-free chocolate chips…. And I still have some left!! 😂 these are the ones and they are verrrrrrry good!! A little goes a long way as they are very rich. I’ll put the link to them in the comments 👇
Good afternoon, Joey, what are ypur thoughts on the Hume body pod vs the Renpho smart scale, which is more accurate, and is Hume body pod worth the investment? Thank you.
Hello joey … Can you send me the schedule for the Ultimate Leg Butt Hip Thigh Makeover? To get rid of cellulite
I have Total-Access
Hi Joey, I always find ULBHTM to the Max/NB the sequel (Part 1 and Part 2) sessions very challenging and I'm just wondering if it should be getting easier, as I have been doing your style of training for well over 4 years. I can never go through it a second time, and I usually have a break before I do part 2. (I'm absolutely pooped
afterwards 🤣)
I don't do this session every week as I rotate other lower body sessions as not to get bored with the same session, so sometimes it might be 2 or 3 weeks before I do this session again, so whether that has an impact I'm not sure.
I do use ankle weights on the the leg lift and the half circle draw and the outer thigh moves on part 2)
I’m definitely much stronger than when I first started which is great so maybe I don’t need to worry 🙂
I’m just looking for your thoughts please Joey 😊
(I did put this comment on the video itself also but I wasn’t sure if I was meant to post there)
Also where is the answer to the question about the inner child?? I am new to how this board works. Thank you.
Hi, I've just started the symulast program. I've never used weights and I am a senior. Should I start with 2 lb weights? I am a swimmer so it's not like I'm a weakling but I know weights can be tricky.
I asked this in the fb group yesterday;
____________
I had 3 private client coaching calls today - As I'm making dinner, a MAJOR "mindset" breakthrough hits me.
Want it? Post "YES"
____________
And got a lot of YES's... so here we go...
NOTE: I'm using this opportunity to test out the internal community post feature in Total-Access to start creating more helpful content and interaction here - instead of in facebook.
Posting these articles here means much less distractions (on fb) and all Total-Access Members, Private Coaching Clients and Naked Beauty/SYMULAST users will be able to see these when we send out updates via email, etc...
Enjoy and please share your thoughts, questions, comments below...
Fitness Coaching Breakthrough Success Tip: Is Your Inner Child Blocking Your Best Progress?
This topic was a convergence of a few things yesterday..
I had a series of remote client coaching sessions on Zoom - and then in the evening, during one of my walks, I was listening to an audio book on communication...
Each of my coaching sessions required me to walk each client through an element that was tripping them up.
The elements were different for each client - but there was a common thread running through all of them.
I also realized this has been, and still is, very common with the vast majority of clients we coach.
It's one of the main reasons they need a coach... to help take control of this specific element.
The audiobook I was listening to was focused on constructive communication and self-awareness.
And the concept popped right into my mind...
We are children existing in our grown-up bodies.
Stick with me...
I'm not saying we "haven't grown up", as most of us certainly have - but, many of us still carry the spirit, habits and tendencies of the kid we used to be before we morphed into an adult...
I'll be the first to say "YES indeed." to that.
And those are the things - the spirit, habits and tendencies of the kid - that often trip people up when developing a proper fitness training & healthy nutrition lifestyle.
It's often subtle and not easy to identify - but once we point it out - it becomes obvious.
For sake of brevity I won't get too deep or lengthy here, as this can certainly be a strong & varied topic to further discuss on a podcast or something - but I want to make the helpful main point today...
Many of us - at times - can struggle with procrastination, being distracted, being unsure, feeling resistance/aversion toward "the thing" we know we are supposed to be doing in order to get the outcome we want...
Sometimes we can even be discouraged by our faulty perception of a situation - and we may let that discouragement take us off path...
I think you get the picture....
NOW, here's the key...
The critical key is NOT that we try to "get rid of the leftover kid" in us...
We NEED that child to still exist in us, in good ways of course ( <<== VERY important***)...
BUT - we need to ACKNOWLEDGE that the kid we used to be is STILL part of us and may hold the behavioral snags that can make our "adult efforts" that much more challenging...
Here's the BREAKTHROUGH:
IN THE AWARENESS of the presence of our child spirit is where we gain the strength and mindfulness to know what that force is that we may be battling at certain times.
Acknowledgment and awareness give us the foundation for proper action - "mind-action" that is - in order to properly navigate the mental side of the fitness equation - like an ADULT :-)
And these are the "Mind-Shift Action Steps:
1 - Being AWARE of the "situation" you are in - or that you will be in soon.
In this step you're observing yourself in the moment - and you're thinking about what you're thinking about.
2 - You ponder what you premeditated as your "pre-planned response" to your superficial/emotionally driven thoughts.
Consciously responding VS emotionally reacting are two very different things - leading to two different outcomes. This is part of what builds personal accountability.
3 - You proactively DECIDE what you are going to do - based on what you previously determined are your goals, priorities and most important outcomes in your life - both short-term.. and long.
This is part of what builds personal discipline that eventually becomes a person's natural way of life.
Developing personal discipline and accountability results in decreasing defeats and increasing victories in all areas of your life.
Again - this is just the main point as there are several layers and angles of this that can be expanded upon and more thoroughly covered.
But the main point alone should be concrete enough to help a lot of people.
We'd love to hear your thoughts & comments below:
I started taking the brain, belly, body, elixir just over a month ago. I am also taking preservation ARED, (for macular degeneration as recommended by my eye dr), superbeets chews , and a Ceylon, cinnamon, apple cider vinegar, turmeric, curcumin, berberine & ginseng supplement (all in 1 capsule). Which of these are a waste of my money & duplicates what I’m getting in the brain, belly, body electrical?
Thanks
